Kim Petras pays a cheeky tribute to THAT iconic Fergie cartwheel performance on the Today show


Kim Petras paid tribute to Fergie while performing on the Today show in New York City on Friday.

The 30-year-old songstress modeled a long-sleeved top with the image of the Black Eyed Peas singer doing cartwheels during her now-iconic performance on the same show in 2008.

The Unholy hitmaker — who looked gorgeous in a green bikini while vacationing in Miami last month — teamed the crop top with a black micro skirt and over-the-knee socks. 

The blonde bombshell also sported an oversized leather jacket and stylish sunglasses that she later shed during her performance. 

And while she did not do any cartwheels, she gave a contagiously energetic mini-concert and delivered flawless vocals.

On the morning show, the Grammy winner performed her hit song Heart to Break as well as Thousand Pieces, Alone, and King of Hearts from her newly-released album, Feed the Beast.

Although Fergie’s solo performance on the Today show happened about 15 years ago, the moment has lived on in countless memes with fans lovingly ridiculing her aerial acrobatics while singing live.

The Dutchess herself noticed the reference and even applauded Petras on Twitter. 

‘Just got to relive performing on the TODAY Show thru @kimpetras,’ Fergie wrote in a gushing tweet. ‘I’m so honored. You killed those high notes babe!!! Keep shining.’

Even though the show was scheduled early in the morning, Petras — who later revealed that she had only slept for two hours the night before — looked (and sounded) phenomenal.

During her performance, she flipped around her platinum blonde tresses in a perfectly sleek and straight hairstyle.

She accessorized with glittering drop earrings as well as a fierce and long manicure in red and white.

Petras stunned in glamorous makeup featuring a brown smokey eye, full lashes, rosy pink cheeks, and a glossy caramel lip. 

On Friday night, Kim exuded a playful spirit as she stepped out for a night on the town.

The musician wore a semi-sheer Like A Virgin t-shirt, a black skirt, and pointed knee-high boots.
