  • Crude oil tanker Affinity V was reported to have run aground in the Suez Canal
  • It happened in the exact same spot where the Ever Given was stranded in 2021
  • Affinity V is understood to have since been refloated and starting to move again

A ship was reported to have run aground in the Suez Canal earlier tonight, blocking all traffic for five hours, sources say.

It comes 18 months after the Ever Given was stranded for six days causing mayhem for deliveries worldwide.

Tonight, the crude oil tanker Affinity V ran aground in the exact same spot. 

The ship is understood to have since been refloated and is beginning to move again.
